The music composer is new. And the cast and crew are lesser-known. So, it was with less expectation we started listening to songs from 'Soorya Nagaram'. But debutant composer Fen Viallee breaks all our preconceived perceptions in the first song itself, and ensures that we tune our ears to the remaining songs without any questions.

In other words, this is the magic of music and Fen Viallee seems to have utlised it to the fullest possible extent. In this film directed by debutant Ma Chellamuthu, the music composer has announced his arrival with a bang and his work is going to be one of the highlights of the movie.

A good treat is awaiting music lovers in 'Soorya Nagarm', and lyrics of all the numbers have been penned by Vairamuthu, the 'Kaviperarasu'. Read more to know more.

Kalyanamam - Listen here
Singer: Karthik
A song celebrating marriage and the rituals attached to it. Karthik's effervescent voice and Fen Viallee's energetic music give life to Vairamuthu's words. Despite the composer's name sounding alien, the number brims with local flavour. This song has an instrumental version too as we go down the album.

Unnai Pirivaena - Listen here
Singers: Karthik, Chinmayee
Love is not just about being together, but also about separation. This is one of those songs in Kollywood that speaks about the joy and pain of love. Karthik, in association with Chinamyee, the new queen bee among female playback singers, has beautifully crooned this melody. Vairamuthu is in full form and Fen Viallee rocks. Not just one, two instrumental versions of this number are there in the album.

Manmadha Kadhal - Listen here
Singers: Karthik, Sujatha
What's love without romance? And how could a song about this could be penned without a mention about Manmadhan, the god of love? Again a melody from Fen Viallee, this number is soothing and sensational. Karthik and Sujatha have performed with ease and elan. Again, watch out for an instrumental version, which too is interesting.

Kichu Kichu - Listen here
Singer: Chinmayee
Chinmayee and an uncredited male voice make this song almost an equivalent to 'Kattipudi kattipudi daa...' Vairamuthu's lyrics and Fen Viallee's music combine well to convey us the hidden but intense feelings of a female, and of course, a male.

Selladhae Jeevanae... - Listen here
Singers: S P Balasubrahmanyam, Chithra
One of the best singing combinations of Tamil cinema, veterans S P Balasubrahmanyam and Chithra have proved once again that they are stilling young and fresh at mind and voice respectively. 'Selladhae Jeevanae...' is a treat for those suffering from the pain of love. Fen Viallee is slow and strong in this number. After a break, this song too comes with an instrumental version.
