Vishal's bold speech in Tamil supporting the Cauvery rights of the Tamil people in Bengaluru has been appreciated by many but it has provoked Kannada extremists to disrupt the shooting of Suriya's 'Thaana Serndha Koottam'.

Director Vignesh Shivan had planned the last leg of shooting for 'Thaaana Serndha Koottam' in Mysore and the unit had already assembled there. Reacting to Vishal's speech yesterday the extremists started rioting and the unit had to dash back to Chennai. The actors including Suriya, Karthick, Keerthy Suresh and Ramya Krishnan among others who were supposed to go by flight to join had to cancel their journey. Remains to be seen if an alternate location will be fixed for the all important sequences.
