As we all know, the biopic on veteran actress Savitri is presently being made as a Tamil-Telugu bilingual. Keerthy Suresh plays the role of Savitri while Samantha will be playing an important role in the film which is said to be that of another yesteryear actress Jamuna who was Savitri's close friend. The film has been titled as 'Nadigaiyar Thilagam' in Tamil.

Ever since the project was officially announced, everyone was eager to know who will play the role of veteran actor Gemini Ganesan who fell in love and married Savithri. The Gemini-Savithri is one of the much adored pairs of Tamil cinema. They married and had kids before getting separated.

Now we learn from a reliable source that leading star Suriya will be playing the role of Gemini Ganesan in the film and it will be that of a cameo appearance and not a full fledged character.

Suriya and Keerthy Suresh are presently shooting for 'Thaanaa Serndha Koottam' directed by Vignesh Sivan. If the above news is true they will be pairing up again in quick succession.

We will have to wait for an official confirmation about the inclusion of Suriya in 'Nadigaiyar Thilagam'.
