Actors Vijayakanth and Surya have donated Rs five lakhs and Rs two lakhs respectively towards Prime Minister's Relief Fund to help the quake victims of Jammu and Kashmir. The recent earthquake in Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir claimed over 30,000 lives.

Vijayakanth, who is also the president of the Desiya Marumalarchi Dravida Kazhagam, in a press release said, 'the devastation caused by the quake has left the whole nation in deep sorrow and I convey my heartfelt condolences to the families of the bereaved'.

Meanwhile, Surya who is currently shooting for Aaru in Jordan, on hearing about the quake, has announced his contribution of Rs two lakhs towards the Prime Minister's Relief Fund.
