Saying that portraying Irendri in Anaganaga Oka Dheerudu has given her immense satisfaction, the Nandi Award winning artist, Lakshmi, has said that the role was supposed to be portrayed by Sushmita Sen.

For some reason, she could not do and the director Prakash Rao K offered her the role of the blood-thirsty lady villain.

Though she was initially reluctant to accept the role, she did it because Lakshmi did not want to forego the offer from Disney, the production company.

Recently, Sushmita Sen asked for the film's DVD so as to watch Lakshmi as Irendri. "Even her children like me," the Manchu girl reveals.
