As a senior member, of Nadigar Sangam, Veteran actor S.V.Shekher was one of the strong pillars of support for the Pandavar Ani spearheaded by Vishal, which won the elections for the office bearer posts of the Artists Association in 2015. Now he is opposed to Vishal and his team contesting in the upcoming Producers Council Elections.

Shekher who is also a film producer gives a detailed account of his reasoning on what turned him against Vishal's efforts to take over the leadership of the Producers' Council.

" Vishal is the General Secretary of Nadigar Sangam. They have given around 40 promises for the Nadigar Sangam and most of them are yet to be fulfilled. We are still working on them and nothing has been fulfilled. I am saying this as a Trustee of the Sangam.

We have not yet received the approval to construct a new building for Nadigar Sangam. We have applied. Only after getting the approval from CMDA, we can start the construction work. The project is budgeted at Rs.26 crores. At present we have only 7-8 crores.

We could collect only 12 crores by conducting Star Cricket Tournament with the participation of around 150 actors. And the net income we derived from that is only 7 or 8 crores.

The budget forecast as Rs.26 crores some one and a half years ago. When we start the construction it may even become Rs.36 crores.

Vishal and Karthi have promised that they will act in a film for free and the profit made by the film will be given for this purpose. We don't know how much that film will collect.

They have claimed that they will earn Rs.100 crores with (a concert) by Ilaiyaraja. I don`t know how much it will earn. Recently a similar event was held in USA and the organised incurred losses to the tune of Rs.6 crores. Today the prospects of music shows have changed. Ilaiyaraja is a genius, no doubt. But we should also see the business prospects of today.

If you want to earn Rs.100 crore, the show has to collect Rs.150 crores. For that you have to make all stars including Ajith and Vijay to participate. Even then you cannot collect such a big amount with a singular show. You have to conduct some 30 shows across the world, there are chances of earning such a big amount. I don`t how these things are possible.

It`s been one and a half years we came to power.. The next election will be on June 2018. Within that we have to construct the building and there are various other promises to be fulfilled.

It is comical to see actors saying that they will save producers at a time when many are complaining that the production costs are skyrocketing due to the salary of many actors."
