Swetha Basu is a Telugu actress who was recently caught up in prostitution in Banjara Hills hotel and arrested during a raid for it. Her case has been going on and this has been quite a shock to the cinema in the South. Her pimp Balu was also arrested along with her and he is an assistant director based from Tamil Nadu.

During the inquiries, Swetha Basu has accepted that's she was indeed, being prostituted and that's he went into this business to save her family from poverty. She was handed over to the court for her case and it has been decided to keep her in female prison for 3 months and provide proper counselling to get her mind out of this business. This was a court ordered counselling too. She will be kept for the three months in a female prison in Hyderabad.
