Alas! Much before Aamir could get over with his exultations of ‘Ghajini's grand success, here is one to wet his happiness. Well, ‘Taare Zameen Par’ heading for Oscar Nominations indeed made us high-spirited. But now, the Oscar Selection Committee has eliminated Aamir's debut directorial TZP out from the lists.

A list of nine movies has been filtered while 5 amongst them will go through final competition out of a grand total of 65 entries, where each country can choose one flick.

According to the officials, ‘Waltz with Bashir’ (Israel), ‘3 Monkeys’ (Turkey), ‘Revanche’ (Austria), ‘The Necessities of Life’ (Canada), ‘The Baader Meinhof Complex’ (Germany), ‘Departures’ (Japan), ‘Tear This Heart Out’ (Mexico), ‘Everlasting Moments’ (Sweden) and ‘The Class’ (France) have made it to the second round.

Also the sources have revealed that 5 nominees making for final round would be announced on January 22.

It's noteworthy that earlier Mr. Perfectionist's 'Lagaan' directed by Ashutosh Gowariker made through final nominations, but failed to fetch the awards.

Don’t lose hope Aamir, there is always another time!
