"By her own acceptance, Tamannah has a prominence in 'Veeram' like in no other project earlier" said director Siva, at the 'Veeram' press meet, which was graced by the presence of music director Devi Sri Prasad, editor Kasi Vishwanath and many others from the crew. Speaking on the film and its making, Siva said "According to 'Veeram', Ajith is the elder brother to four, and plays a responsible elder one and a thorough action hero, also with enough scope for comic sequences in his role. Though there are rumours that the film is inspired from other older movies or that it borders on a Malayalam movie, I would like to clarify that it is not so. 'Veeram' is an entirely new concept and a direct Tamil movie.

" Further, lauding Ajith's daring courage on the dangerous stunt sequence on a running train, the director said "When we suggested we use a body double considering the danger involved in the sequence, Ajith said "If anything is to happen to the one being shot, then let it be me." Such is the humility and dedication of a star as big as Ajith."
