The Story

Writer Himanshu Sharma takes it exactly from where he left in 2011. During the opening credits the nostalgia of the predecessor is established with the background of RK’s Ram Teri Ganga Maili’s Sun Sahiba Sun..

Its four years Tanu is married with Sharmaji (R. Madhavan) and a hilarious scene at mental asylum sets the tone of the future proceedings. Bickering, fighting and mia biwi quarrels leaves the viewer amused and the firangi doctors aghast as Tanu fumes words like ‘jhand’ (destroy), uddan choo (vanished) and all.. poor Sharmaji finds himself kept under cell for erratic behavior which actually was his complaint  against Tanu.

Tanu decides to come back to Kanpur and while leaving London informs Pappi (Deepak Dobriyal) to bring Sharmaji back from the mental asylum in London.

Bindass Tanu is back  to Kanpur.. Sharmaji is back to Delhi.. saying more will act as spoilers.. but what follows next is an unstoppable joy full roller costar ride where we see all the iconic characters of the prequel continuing their quirky saga.

What to look out for

A victory for the actor, director and the audience, 'Tanu Weds Manu' is a rousing and hugely entertaining movie. Anand Rai’s neck to capture the essence of western UP and the Hindi heartland remain fabulous. 'Tanu Weds Manu' , 'Raanjhanaa' are his proven testimonies and this sequel notches up Anand Rai’s  masterly crafts to pull a brilliant and yet crowd-pleasing entertainer that grabs you from the first frame to the closing credits. Its entertainment uninterrupted.

Filled with hilarious situations and quirky ‘desi’ humour powered by some wonderful lines 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' is desi Indian rom com seen at its best Anand Rai narration weaves smoothly together all the emotions at the right time.

Putting Kangana at the helm of all the affairs 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' finding Kangana as a priceless wonder.

In an astounding display of acting heroics Kangana is a two thumps up as Tanu and Kusum. Finding herself in one of the best double roles in bollywood in the league of Hema Malini in 'Seeta Aur Geeta', Sridevi in 'Chandini', Kangana delivers another unforgettable performance after 'Queen'.

The bindass Tanu and the bob cut and buck teeth Haryanvi sports women in Delhi from jhanjhar Kangana is impeccable with a pitch perfect with that Haryanvi accent.. outstanding energy and finesse. take  a bow Kangana.

Madhavan on the other hand is just perfect and remarkable in his controlled act as Sharmaji..

Raja Awasthi (Jimmy Shergill) is a delight once again. Talented Deepak Dobriyal as the crazy buddy of Manu is highly entertaining.

Swara Bhaskar as Payal Rathore Tanu’s friend has a quirky twist to her tale.. and Swara excels in her role.

Himanshu Sharma introduces two additional characters in this sequel lawyer Anand Kumar Singh (Mohd Zeeshan Ayub), and Kusum's brother Om Prakash Sangwan (Rajesh Sharma), both chip in with valuable and interesting support to the proceedings.

Technicalities are up to mark. Krsna Solo and Tanishk-Vayu ‘s music is another highlight. Bano and old school girl are pick of the lot.

What not?

Falls into the make belief and predictable mode for a while during the second half.

Conclusion: 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' is b-town best sequel that notches much ahead of its predecessor Kangana is a sheer wonder in this 120 minutes uninterrupted fun. Go.. you are invited for a nonstop dose of entertainment. Do not miss.
