There is nothing more deadly than a father pushed too far...

And when pushed he is, all hell is bound to break loose!

The same happened to Ravi [Sanjay Dutt], a simple man with a simple family and simple dreams. He didn't expect anything extraordinary from GOD. All he wanted was his family to be content and his world to be full of happiness. A family man with a beautiful and simple wife Sarita [Amisha Patel] and a 8 years old son [Master Yash Pathak], he worked in a factory and was happy inspite of a meager salary of Rs. 5000.

Just like any other father, be it rich or poor, even he had raised his son with affection and care. He got him to this world, held him when he took his first steps and his emotions knew no bounds when his son smiled at him for the first time. And now he was being made to suffer without any warning or reason....

His son was dying and he had no one in the world to look to....nowhere to go to....nothing to help him get out of this situation!

All of a sudden, Ravi and Sarita were crestfallen as they realized that their son had a hole in his heart. And now the only thing that could save him was a heart transplant! But was this all going to be easy?

NO

Because now began a terrible game of SYSTEM that ensured that there was nothing more than a hairline distance between the young boy and death! And the question that Ravi asked was - "WHY?"

Why couldn't he save the life of his son?
Why wasn't anyone sympathetic towards his plight?
Why was he not able to raise lakhs of rupees that could get his son smiling again?
Why was he in such a helpless situation that he had to see his wife Sarita crying for her son to come back to her?

Any other man in Ravi's situation could have buckled under the pressure. But not Ravi!

Because he was not looking for an answer. He was AN answer himself.

An answer to the SYSTEM. The system that comprised of his own office, the insurance company that had made tall claims, the agencies that provided loans, the hospital, the police, the politicians, and the media! He took them up all and challenged them to face him. To agree to HIS own way! Because now there was NO system.

HE was THE SYSTEM!

When words failed, the gun began talking. With a gun in hand, now he wanted everyone to listen to his conditions. Even if that meant breaking the law, coming up with his own conditions and demanding his rights!

Everyone from police to politicians to media, who had a scoop in their hands, tried to use and abuse him but to no avail. Because he was the man who was in no way concerned about people around him. He was concerned only about two people in his life who mattered to him most - his son and his wife.

And now he was not alone!

Because soon he was joined by a doctor, a cop and millions of people on the street who realized the fact that Ravi was one of them.

No wonder it was GOD's turn to listen to him now. And say TATHASTU, which means SO..BE IT!

Coming from the team of 'DUS' [producer Nitin Manomohan and director Anubhav Sinha], TATHASTU also stars Jaya Prada, Manoj Pahwa, Gulshan Grover and Asrani and releases all over on 12th May.
