Ever since Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra started directing, he has also been producing each of his films. Whether it was 'Aks', 'Rang De Basanti' or 'Delhi 6', he was in control from production standpoint as well. However for 'Teen Thay Bhai', he has started expanding his horizon. For this yet another production of his, he entirely handed over the reins of the film's direction to first timer Mrigdeep Singh Lamba.

"I wanted to step back for this production of mine. When Mrigdeep came to me with this script, I was convinced that he was the right man to direct it as well. He was very clear about what he wanted to do with 'Teen Thay Bhai'," says Mehra.

This also means that there is a distinct shift in the content and the offering that his newest film gives. While his earlier attempts like 'Delhi 6', 'Rang De Basanti' and 'Aks' either carried metaphorical connotations or came with some messaging; 'Teen They Bhai' is far simpler.

"That would be a change for audience as well as me, isn't it? I too want to go easy at times and Mrigdeep wanted it that way as well", smiles Mehra who doesn't deny that 'Teen Thay Bhai' is bereft of any of his trademark metaphorical references.

Hope 'Teen Thay Bhai' indeed makes for an easy viewing as compared to 'Delhi 6' which we are still trying to figure out.
