Music Director: Sajid, Wajid

Lyrics: Prasoon Joshi

Director Kunal Kohli is attracted by the theme of timeless boundaries with his film 'Teri Meri Kahaani'. The multiple love story spans three different eras. With the sizzling lead Shahid Kapur and Priyanka Chopra falling in love in 1910, 1960, and 2012 the film looks promising enough. This time Kohli has Sajid and Wajid at the helm to create a new chartbuster album and unlike their other albums they definitely have tried to create something unique and sober for each and every era.

Mukhtasar Mulaqat Hai

Singer: Wajid Ali

The album opens well with the song "Mukhtasar Mulaqat Hai" by Wajid Ali himself.  It is similar to a lot of Wajid Ali's old numbers yet but Prasoon Joshi lyrics are a notch above. It's one of the best songs of the album. Wajid's voice too is very addictive and simply grows on you after every hearing. A very peppy young groovy number with fast electronic beats this one is a definitely a hit at the clubs. A medley of guitar and piano in the background makes you swing to the mood of the music. A winner all the way. The remix version DJ Suketu is equally good but the electronic beats simply drown Wajid's husky voice.

Allah Jaane

Singer: Rahat Fateh Ali Khan

"Mukhtasar" is followed by "Allah Jaane". With Rahat Fateh Ali Khan taking the helm as usual this one has a qawaali tone to it. A Sufi number, it sounds very mundane and often repeated track. Here Sajid-Wajid have nothing new to offer. The table and the flute try to lift this romantic track but it has not helped the song. The lyrics are very simple and Rahat's voice is very soothing and relaxing. Overall, the song is unmemorable but worth a listen anyway.

Jabse Mere Dil Ko Uff

Singer: Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan

For the 1960s number, "Jabse Mera Dil Ko Uff", Sajid and Wajid have got a very entertaining track. With Sonu Nigam and Sunidhi Chauhan's voices the song is definitely transfers you back in the 60's. The lyrics are also simple and sweet. The beats of the drums, the guitar and the trumpets makes it a very lively party number and has the feel of the Shammi Kapoor kind of music in the 60's . The combination of Sonu and Sunidhi reminds of the popular Mohammed Rafi and Asha Bhosle kind of songs. It's a fun song and the theme and the costumes and look of the entire song has the very 60's feel. A definite hit on the charts this year.

Humse Pyar Kar Le Tu

Singers: Wajid, Mika Singh, Shreya Ghoshal, Sabri Brothers

"Humse Pyar Kar Le Tu" is the song that has the feel of the 1910's. This time Sajid and Wajid have the Sabri brothers taking over. The main verses conveys the hero's love for his girl. Mika and Wajid also join the song giving it a twist. Shreya as usual is superb. The composition of the track is brilliant intertwined with harmonium hook and strings in the back. A very retro number the song has been shot keeping in mind the ambience of that period.

The Remix version is so-so but it retains the flavour of the song.

That's All I Really Wanna Do

Singers: Shaan, Shreya Ghoshal

"That's All I Really Wanna Do" - this Hinglish number ends the album. Rendered by Shaan and Shreya Ghoshal the breezy number opens with the sounds of harmonica, guitar and trumpets sounds. The clapping sounds add a bit of pep to this dance number. This one is a sure shot romantic number with a lot of fluff.  Shreya does flounder in bits but this is completely Shaan's turf. This number will not find many fans.  Picturised on Shahid and Priyanka it may have a few fans but not a popular number.

Overall: The music of 'Teri Meri Kahaani' is a winner all the way. Music duo Sajid Wajid has tried their best to transfer you to another era completely. Lyrics by Prasoon Joshi are simple and hummable and Sajid -Wajid's composition are very light and breezy keeping the different era's in mind.
