Thala Ajith has dismantled his official fan clubs back in 2011 but that has not stopped the voluntary functioning of fan clubs and fans organising various welfare activities and celebrations in the name of Ajith.

Now ten Thala fan clubs in the neighbouring state of Karnataka have united to do something unique, unusual and also auspiciou to show their love and respect for Thala. They have erected a Shivalinga for Ajith in Sri Kotilingeshwara temple located at Kolar, Karnataka. The fans performed abhishekam and poojas for the lord Shiva in the form of Lingaa after erecting it. They claim that they have done this to stress the good ideals propounded by Ajith which should be followed by his fans.

There are around 92 lakh Lingaas erected in the temple and the temple administration is aiming for one crore Lingaas. Earlier Shivalingaas have been erected by fan clubs of Superstar Rajinikanth and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan under the names of their respective matinee idols.

It is said that some over enthusiastic fans erected the idols of their stars a few years back and due to public resistance for that, the Temple authorities had banned fans of cine stars to errect Shivalingaas in the temple. Ajith fans acquired the permission after a long struggle.
