Ajith`s most dashing screen persona was revealed in Mankatha` directed by Venkat Prabhu in which he gave a mesmerizing performance as the renegade cop Vinayak Mahadev. It is the dream of Venkat Prabhu to direct both Vijay and Ajith in a film and the Ilayathalapathy too had reportedly stated that he would have gladly done Action King Arjun`s role in Mankatha` if he had been approached.

Now the talks about Mankatha 2` have started and here we have the hypothetical storyline for the second time teaming up between Thala and Thalapathy twenty two years after Rajavin Paarvaiyile`.

India is shocked by the rape and murder of underage girls in a tourist spot in TN. Cops' investigation reveals an American hunk (Batista) is the culprit, but he has escaped to the US. The US government agencies share that he is a mafia don who is untraceable at the moment. The cops decide to send their best officer, but the audience is not shown who it is.

Cut to the US where Thala is living in a Spanish settlement as a Matador (don) for the downtrodden in the outskirts of Las Vegas. His pass time is fencing and bull fighting and the only man who is always with him is Appukutty Sivabalan. Ajith befriends Katrina Kaif who is the hostess of the largest chain of casinos owned by Jet Li. Just when u think his old days of crime are over Thala recruits Indian party boys Premgi Amaran, Vaibav, Mahat and Ashwin and executes heists from the casinos earning the wrath of Jet Li. Simultaneously Ilayathalapathy Vijay enters Vegas with assistant Mottai Rajendran and is seen as a high risk taking gambler. Alia Bhatt is a news reporter living opposite his apartment and is obviously smitten by him. One of Ajith`s clearly planned casino heists is spoiled because of the interference of Vijay who becomes close to Jet Li due to the incident. Vijay strikes a deal that he will get to the bottom of who is stealing the casinos in return for a huge money.

Thus begins a cat and mouse game between Thala and Thalapathy with many challenging moments. In one situation the two of them are left alone in the desert and have to endure natures challenges together forming a bonding. It is revealed Vijay is the cop from India and Thala promises to deliver Batista if Vijay helps him get Jet Li who actually killed Arjun. How the two team up and finish their respective jobs is the rest of the story.

End dialogue Ilayathalapathy says to Thala : "This time we part as friends but you are a wanted man next time it will be my f**king game and I will arrest and take you back to India" to which Thala laughs out loud and replies "I am waiting…….."

Of course there will cameos from Siva as DJ in a night club, Vijayalakshmi as a Spanish dancer, Jai as a bull fighter, Vijay Vasanth as street musician, Ajay Raaj as Alia Bhatt`s camera man, Arvind Aakash and Sampath as a married couple in a Venkat Prabhu Gamble.
