Mahesh Babu is making his foray into Tamil cinema with 'Spyder' directed by the man with the Midas touch, A. R. Murugadoss.    We managed to get the maverick director aside for a tell all interview in which he frankly shares never before revealed info about 'Spyder', 'Vijay 62' and also sportively fields criticism.

About S. J. Suriya...

ARM has stated that he and actor-director S.J. Surya started off as friends, then went on to work together in an unnamed movie in which he jokingly let out that the duo learnt how not to make a film. The ‘Kaththi’ director acknowledges that it was S.J. Surya who recommended his name to Ajith who agreed to act in his debut movie ‘Dheena’.

On Choosing S.J. Surya as 'Spyder' villain..

Murugadoss is of the opinion that the hero becomes powerful only when the villain he is opposing is more than his equal.  He felt that  S.J. Surya can do full justice to the role opposite a towering Mahesh Babu and that is how he agreed to play the antagonist for the first time in his career.

Mahesh Babu's character and 'Spyder' storyline...

Mahesh Babu according to the director plays the role of an officer in the Intelligence Bureau.  The storyline is about how the technological revolution has put every move of the people under surveillance by the government told commercially.

Criticism regarding heroines...

ARM sportively accepted the criticism that he has indeed used his heroines as just a glamour quotient and for duet songs.  He has, however promised to concentrate on giving his female lead much more to do in the story in the future.

The Biggie announcement on 'Vijay 62'...

Murugadoss for the very first time has announced officially on our Red Carpet show that he is indeed directing 'Vijay 62' which is his third film with Thalapathy after 'Thuppakki' and 'Kaththi'.  He has also put to rest rumors about the film being the sequel to ‘Thuppakki’ and confirmed that it will be a fresh new script for which the pre-production has already begun.  The shoot will start from January 2018.
