With just three days to go for the grand Deepavali festival the problems affecting the release of Thalapathy Vijay's grand 61st film  'Mersal' are still persisting. The latest one being the delay in issuing Censor certification as the Animal Welfare Board of India has objected for the same citing that they have not issued  their No Objection Certificate  for having used certain animals and birds in the film.

At this juncture, Thalapathy Vijay who is always concerned about the well being of his fans as well as those who invest money in his films as just now met the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy at the latter's official residence at Greenways Road, Chennai. It is said that the actor discussed with the CM regarding the issues that could affect the release of 'Mersal' and he also thanked the leader for the Government reducing the local body tax and fixing the movie ticket prices. State I & B Minister Kadambur Raju was also apparently present at the meeting.

This is the first meeting between Vijay and the present CM of TN.
