The Jai starrer 'Aval Peyar Thamizharasi' is progressing fast. Directed by debutant Meera Kadhiravanl, expectations are that the movie would go on to join the elite list of hits like 'Kadhal', 'Subramaniapuram', 'Veyyil' and 'Paruthi Veeran'.

Meera Kadhiravan, who worked as associate with Balu Mahendra and Thangar Bachchan, says, 'the facets of what the present generation has lost in their lives forms the crux of my film. It is the story of a man who goes on to become a great human being, revered by everyone'.

On choosing Jai, he says, ' when Jai was doing 'Subramaniapuram', I decided to cast him in the lead role. He fits the lead role well. I admire him for choosing a 'different film' even after tasting success. Nandhagi, a rural girl from Tamilnadu plays the heroine'.

'The music that Vijay Anthony is scoring is soft on the ears' he adds.
