'Thanga Meengal' in May

Director Ram, who hogged limelight with his much talked about debut venture 'Katradhu Thamizh', is planning to release his forthcoming film 'Thanga Meengal' by May. Interestingly, the film marks his foray as an actor.

Produced by Gautham Vasudev Menon, 'Thanga Meengal', according to Ram, is a feel-good story with a message. It is about the current education system and the impact it has on the lives of individuals.

Ram is the playing the role of a middle-aged father, with Padmapriya doing a crucial character. "There will be no preachy tone. Thanga Meengal will be a complete commercial entertainer," claims Ram.

It was Gautham Menon who wanted Ram to play the lead role in this film. When the latter narrated the story of 'Thanga Meengal' to former, he wanted Ram to play the lead role, besides wielding the megaphone.
