After being made to tender an apology at Nadigar Sangam for his alleged remarks on actresses recently, actor-cinematographer-producer-director Thangar Bachchan made his first public appearance by taking part at a function in Chennai on Sunday.

It was the release of a book titled Thullal - Nizhalin Kaladiyil Nijangal which is authored by director turned actor Praveen Kanth.

According to Praveen Kanth, 'the book contains all travails and insults faced by me after I ventured to produce the movie Thullal'.

Speaking on the occasion, Cheran, said, 'directors are forced to become actors only due to the attitude of the actors these days'.

No director or an actor can achieve success without hard work, he said. A rather 'mute' Thangar Bachchan was the centre of all attraction.

Seizing the opportunity, Thangar urged every artiste to be open-minded and straight forward and said the difficulties involved in producing movies can be best understood by a director alone.

The gathering was little disappointed for Thangar's speech lacked the usual punch and fireworks.

But as they say better be safe than be sorry.
