It was the turn of Kollywood to thank Chief Minister M Karunanidhi for a slew of welfare measures announced by him, which has brought a joy in the industry.

Karunanidhi had recently announced a reduction of rental charges for shooting films in Tamil Nadu and has reportedly taken efforts to talk with the Centre and get a go-ahead for release of few movies, which have been lying in the cans following a deadlock over obtaining a no-objection certificate from Animal Welfare Board.

Actor Kamal Haasan, director Shankar, members of the directors association and several film personalities have made a bee-line to call on Karunanidhi and thank him.
