In tough competition Gujarati film ‘The Good Road’ has edged ‘The Lunch Box’ and has got the nod as the Indian entry for the best foreign film category at the Academy Awards 2013. Making it the first Gujarati film to achieve this feat..

Renowned filmmaker Goutam Ghose, who headed the selection committee appointed by the Film Federation of India (FFI), has made this announcement a short while ago.
Produced by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) ‘The Good Road’ scored over 21 other contenders, including strong films like "The Lunchbox", "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag", "English Vinglish", "Vishwaroopam", Malayalam film "Celluloid" and Bengali film "Shabdo",
The Good Road had clinched the National Award for Best Feature Film (Gujarati) earlier this year and is made by debut filmmaker Gyan Correa the collage of several stories which are entwined together by a common premise, a highway stars Sonali Kulkarni and Ajay Gehi in the lead roles.
India’s Oscar pride Resul Pookutty has done the sound designing for the film.
