Hardly does anyone remember and associate Tamannah with the role of a demure girl that she played, as Shobana, in ‘Kallori’. Her rise has been nothing short of meteoric, in an industry that was largely dominated by Nayantara and Asin, at the time of her entry.

But Tamannah isn’t the one to crave for the top slot in the industry. “I don’t care if I’m the top heroine or not. Positions really don’t matter. I concentrate only on my work,” says the actress, with oodles on confidence. “But luck and fate are as important as hard work in the film industry if you wish to be in the top slot. I’m giving my best in whatever role I take up but the rest is not under my control,” she says when asked if she is eyeing the top slot in the industry.

Despite her modesty, industry pundits call her ‘the next big thing’ in Kollywood. In a move that would confirm this, the actress replaced numero uno Nayantara in Lingusamy’s Paiya when Nayantara opted out of the project. Here’s wishing Tamannah all luck to reach the pinnacle of success.
