'The Dirty Picture' has successfully stayed in news ever since it's inception and that has resulted in immense hype that has been built around it. Whether it is frequent tidbits around the film, the entire Silk Smitha controversy, naughty promos or a chartbuster track (Ooh Laa La) - things have really fallen in place for this Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi starrer over the last few months.

All of this means that the film is all set to take a good start at the box office. 'A' certificate means that the film will lose out on the family audience. However its target audience, the gentry, should have their eyes full when they catch all the action which 'The Dirty Picture' has to offer in aplenty. While single screens are all set open really well, even in multiplexes there are good falls guaranteed which makes this Milan Luthria film a solid contender to be a box office success. Expect an opening in the range of 60%-70% and around 25 crores coming in its first weekend itself.

As for the other release of the week, 'I Am Singh', there are no chances whatsoever for the film to make any mark in theatres across the country. Even though Puneet Issar is getting back to direction with this film after his Salman Khan starrer 'Garv', the promotion has been lacklustre, to put it mildly. Also, there has been no awareness created around the theme or the leads of the film, hence making one wonder whether this was indeed the right time for it to release. 'I Am Singh' may just get some footfalls in Punjab but outside that it doesn't stand much chance.
