One of the most gripping thrillers of the recent times, 'Special 26' (Hindi) is under the lens for a remake in Tamil. Sources say that in the talk with Kollywood producers on the possible remake of the runaway hit, a leading production house is the front runner. The lead role in the Hindi version was played by Akshay Kumar; so down South, they want a mass hero to portray the role.

'Special 26' was directed by Neeraj Pandey and was produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures.Bobby Singh held the camera for the 143 minute flick, to which music was tuned by Himesh Reshammiya and MM Keeravani. It is worth mentioning here that Neeraj Pandey's yet another success 'A Wednesday' was already remade in Tamil into 'Unnai Pol Oruvan', starring Ulaga Nayagan.
