Malayalam cinema is said to have a dearth in the number of quality filmmakers, these days. And whenever someone proves himself capable of converting a couple of movies into big hits, those scriptwriters will be on immense demands for the next few years. This season seems to be that of Krishna Poojappura, who scripted Saji Surendran's two hits -`Ivar Vivahitarayal' and `Happy Husbands' .Without any bombastic dialogues or heroism or crowd pulling lead stars, he managed to convert both these movies into big hits.

Krishna Poojappura's last release ‘Happy Husbands’ had been the upset hit of year which still continues in theatres after 150 days. The scenarist who practised well with television serials before landing into cinema, has a fine talent to present any serious threads through humorous lanes to tickle the comic vain of the viewers and that has been his USP.

Krishna Poojappura is now busy with the movie under production `Sakudumba Shyamala', another family affair with Urvashi in the lead and debutant director Radhakrishnan Mangalath at the helm. His next will be the Saji Surendaran's multistarrer 'Four Friends' which also tells an unusual story.
