The Sound Of Boot

Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Malayalam Comments

Shaji Kailas- Suresh Gopi team who had created plenty of hits in the past is back again to repeat the magic of their togetherness. The duo that has not been able to be among hits with their latest ventures like 'Time' will now tell an investigative story set against the backdrop of a love story. Scripted by Rajesh Jayaraman, the film also holds much importance as it is the Pyramid Saimira's first production in Malayalam. A hush project completed in a just 22 days, this small budgeted movie is strategically getting released on December 7, in thirty centers, two weeks before the Christmas biggies arrive.

The shooting of the film was looked upon with much astonishment as no media were allowed on the sets; instead the creators called all the media members and give a synopsis of the film, in the later days of the shooting. And according to the story lines given, the film has Suresh Gopi, again as the investigative officer. He is in the beautiful mountain ranges of Peerumadu and Kuttikanam to investigate on the unusual death of Meera Nambiar, a college student, which rocked the state. She was in love with Rahul Krishna, with whom she was planning to go for a voyage

Suresh Gopi who appears as an S P in the film gets ample support in the matters of enquiry from Sophia Hassan,  a journalist who kept deep friendship with Meera.

Tamil actor Bala is the romantic hero Rahul Krishna, of the film and while Honey (boyfriend fame) appears as Meera. Lakshana makes a comeback to Malayalam as Sofia Hassan. The film which has only 15 characters have on the cast list Rhajan P Dev, Murali, Sona Nair, Rizabava, Bheeman Raghu, Maniyan Pillai Raju, Krishnakumar and Biju Pappan.

Shaji Kailas has attempted a different way from his usual style, for this film which offers much suspense elements in every frame and great twists in the climax. The film is structured to bring in the youth audiences and make them enjoy the most. Cinematographed by Raja Rathnam, the music department is handled by Shaan and Vayalar Sharath. Rajesh Jayaraman and the director Shaji Kailas who are badly in need of a hit assures you that, this will certainly become a different film that has little traces of anything that you had watched before. So wait for 'Boot' and its after effects.
