The Train

Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Hindi Comments

There have been hundreds of films about relationship between a man and a woman
There have been countless films about love triangles
There have been dozens of films on adultery

And now comes one film that has its base set in relationships, has a kind of never-seen-before love triangle and last but not the least has it's germ in adultery.

And all of this comes together with an integral part of their lives - THE TRAIN!

THE TRAIN that makes Vishal Dixit [Emraan Hashmi] meet a complete stranger Roma [Geeta Basra]
THE TRAIN that creates a distance between Vishal and his wife Anjali [Sayali Bhagat]
THE TRAIN that brings Vishal to a junture that changed his life forever

Vishal and Anjali were married for long but the initial spark between the two was missing. Living in Bangkok, Vishal had a decent job, a good house and a beautiful 5 year old daughter. What lacked though was the passion that had glued together Vishal and Anjali in the past.

This is when Roma came into the life of Vishal...in a train.

Glances were exchanged, moments were shared, subtle expressions of desire became visible and suppressed passion, lust and desire of years erupted like a volcano.

This was a journey which moved on a fast track but unlike a train it wasn't meant to stop at a station. Instead what it faced was a dark tunnel that didn't open into a clear world ahead. Instead what it faced an unsuspecting blockage that came out of nowhere and now threatened to bring it off the tracks.

This unsuspecting blockage was a mysterious caller who seemed to know everything about what Vishal did, when did he meet Roma, what was the kind of relationship Roma had with Vishal and last but not the least, the identity of Roma who was already married to a man who had never loved her!

Vishal and Roma were trapped. And there seemed to be no respite ahead. All this while Anjali too had her apprehensions building up as she could sense Vishal's suspicious behaviour.

Tired of living a life that didn't give him any happiness and now threatened to take away everything that he ever had, Vishal now decides to take an ultimate step. He wants to remove this blockage forever from the tracks and bring his journey to a halt forever.

But how would he do that? Or would he ever be able to do that? Especially in a world which wasn't quite aware about the identity of this mysterious caller!

Also starring Asseem Merchant, Anant Mahadevan, Suresh Menon and Rajat Bedi, THE TRAIN boasts of a chartbuster track of Mithoon with lyrics by Sayeed Quadri. Directed by Hasnain Hyderabadwala and Rakhsa Mistry, THE TRAIN is a dramatic thriller that takes the game of adultery to a different level altogether.
