Theeya Velai Seiyanum Kumaru

Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Hindi Comments

His Ullathai Allitha was a movie that robbed people's funny bones in broad daylight, a complete out and out entertainer of all sorts. And then he kept delivering some red hot comical movies, but then took a break from his direction and headed towards acting for a while. Now Sundar C the light hearted guy is back to his fortes of direction and his recent Kalakalapu proved his mettle. He has a  fairly neat team for TVSK which is supposedly a romcom.

The movie has heartthrob Siddharth who has shifted gears towards Kollywood lately and his recent Udhayam NH4 had a decent outing at the BO. Joining him is bubbly actress Hansika who is having goodie time down south, she is busy shuttling between Tollywood and Kollywood and most of her movies are above average grossers and boy is she enjoying all the limelight.

Another significant character in this movie is Santhanam, the funnyman of Kollywood. Apparently he has a dozen projects lined up, yet he manages his callsheet pretty well indeed. His last movie with Sundar C took the box office by a storm and we have to wait and watch how this turns out to be. Ganesh V, the dude of Kollywood also is said to play a pivotal role in this movie.

Most of Sundar C's movies are never boring and they never stop to entertain. His screenplay has always been his biggest strength, evident in most of his previous movies as well. A suave IT fella who is rather surrounded by a horde of smart girls and yet he feels shy to take up a conversation with a girl, that is the main theme of this movie.

Siddharth has played the shy IT guy and as we get it from the trailer, he falls head over heels for Hansika. Enter Love guru Santhanam, whose unfathomable knowledge on love helps Siddharth to come over his fears. Set in a very cool urban centric milieu the director has mentioned in so many of the media interactions that this will be presented as a clean comedy movie with no double meaning gimmicks.

The movie is produced by Kushboo Sundar, Ronnie and Siddharth Roy. Music is by Sathya who shot to fame with his Engeyum Epothum, the album has been doing decent rounds with "Azhagendral Avalthana" topping the album lately. Gopi to take of the camera work and Editing is done by the duo Praveen & Srikanth. KNM pictures have taken up the distribution rights of this movie in Tamil Nadu. It will release in Telugu as "Something Something" and the role of Santhanam has been taken up by Telugu comedy king "Brahmanandam".
