Thinkal Muthal Velli Vare

Humour can be blended in many ways. Slapstick, spoof, situational and contrived - comedy is tried to be presented in movies in a palatable manner. Right from the word go, 'Thinkal Muthal Velli vare' was touted to be a comedy entertainer with an interesting theme. Though one can find elements of the slapstick in the movie's teaser, some genuine touches were found.

But such expectations came to naught as the movie turned out to be mess of an entertainer. The slapstick became so cumbersome that one feels stifled under its volley. There is too many stupidities that the actors are made to do that one feels sorry for them. The story revolves around serials and how they influence a person.

Pupshavalli (Rimi Tomy) is one such person, whose bizarre ways is irritating to say the least. Her antics are quite pitiable. Her fascination with serials and their makers land a popular serial writer, Jayadevan (Jayaram) in deep trouble. Their subsequent marriage and Puspahavalli's interference in Jayadevan's personal and professional life is highlighted.

The movie unravels their life together. In the meanwhile, a lot many comic sequences are contrived to offer a slapstick comic movie. 'Thinkal Muthal Velli Vare' could be enjoyed by those who enjoy such kinds of crass and loud comedy. There is no subtlety in how humour is portrayed and this is in a way the movie's undoing. The problem is the overacted antics which which ultimately evokes anything but sympathy to the lead protagonists. Watch this movie expecting some over the top antics and slapstick to the boot.
