Although this ‘Thirupathi Express’ is a remake of Telugu film ‘Venkatadri Express’ (released in last November 2013) there is good entertainment value and never falls short of family audience requirements.

There is excitement at regular interval and the selection of characters for the film is also apt. The cinematography of Jagadish Wali and two good tunes from Arjun Janya adds up to the value of the film.

Going away from regular route the end is interesting transformation. Thank God, the undisclosed lovers do not exchange and they express it in their eyes. Srinivas Rao (Ashok) family is a model. No one in the family can stay after 100 mistakes. One of the two sons has faced ire of father. The last son of the family Sumanth (Sumanth Shailender) has reached 99 mistakes – all because he is a Good Samaritan. There is ailing mother of Sumanth (played by Sumithramma) who does not want to see him out of the house. Controlling his anger and remaining at 99 like how some of the cricket players stay at the crease is a big challenge for Sumanth.

At this juncture the marriage of his brother is fixed to a girl in Thirupathi. The family members pack luggage to travel by ‘Thirupathi Express’. It is the missing Mangalasutra in the bag makes Sumanth to take some dangerous steps. In this process he comes in to contact with Prarthana (Kriti Karbanda). Both heading for Thirupathi miss the train. A lot of developments, love and hate situations evolve in the process of final destination. There is commotion in the marriage hall as the bride is missing for marriage. For this bride the safety with her lover is comforted by Sumanth. It is 100th mistake for Sumanth with his family members. How the transformation in Srinivas Rao comes up is interesting part.

Compared to two films ‘Aata and Dilwala’ Sumanth Shailender is much better. He looks set for this kind of film. He has to be careful on his diction. Kriti Karbanda is a peerless beauty around in Kannada cinema has done her best.

Ashok, Bullet Prakash, Sadhu Kokila, Ninasam Ashwath, Sumithramma, Sharat Lohitashva, Naveen Krishna given admirable support and they make the screenplay look very easy and comfortable.

Usirigintha….song is very well presented on screen. Sumanth and Kriti Karbanda look dam good in this song. Jagadish Wali is like a strong ‘Wall’ to this film. Go watch this ‘Paisa Vasoo’ cinema.

Score – 7/10
