We know Perarasu follows a patented formula. His films will have an overdose of action, racy songs and punch lines. No different from his earlier ventures is 'Thiruthani'.

The only big difference in 'Thiruthani' when compared to his past flicks are- besides wielding the megaphone, the director has taken to scoring music too here.

After 'Pazhani', Perarasu has joined hands with Bharath again for this 'commercial potboiler' which features him in the role of a gym instructor.

The character is enough for Perarasu to load punch lines and show Bharath fighting baddies all guns blazing. Sunaina plays the female lead while veteran Raj Kiran dons the role of a retired Military Officer.

Watch out for Aashish Vidyarthy playing a role that we have seen him doing from time immemorial.

A youth (Bharath) who is ready to brace up a battle against baddies and ensure all is at peace in the society is the crux. He is helped by a retired military man. There is abundant romance for him in the form a rural belle (Sunaina). Of course top it up with some emotions, family sentiments, that's 'Thiruthani' for you.

Perarasu does manage one thing. He ensures all is fast and furious in the film, at least in the form of camera movements and editing.

If the movie managed to reflect realism a little, it would have been a easy battle for Perarasu. Sadly, the content goes wrong and so is the execution.

But for some energetic performance by Bharath and subtle performance by Raj Kiran, 'Thiruthani' would have been helpless. Sunaina on her part tries to liven up the proceedings.

'Perarasu' should have made the script without much logical loop-holes. It ends up a curate's egg.
