This time is different: China to India
Wednesday, July 12, 2017 • Hindi Comments

Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar was hopeful that India and China will resolve issues like they did in the past. But China does not seem to share the same attitude as the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that it was “different” this time.

Jaishankar said that this was a “test of our maturity” and that the two countries “must not allow differences to become disputes" while speaking in Singapore.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang said at a press briefing that this time was “different from the undefined boundary in eastern, middle and western sectors” and that China has repeatedly pointed out illegal trespassing by India into Chinese territory.

Gend said that the 1890 Sikkim-Tibet treaty confirmed the border, but India has been insisting on the contrary. India must withdraw its troops for any dialogue to happen, he said.
