Thoondil

Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Tamil Comments

Director K S Adhiyaman has carved a niche for himself as a director, whose films carry family themes. They dwell on human emotions. His films including `Thootasinungi' and `Priyasakhi' were widely acclaimed.

Having made a name for himself in Bollywood with few successful movies, director Adhiyaman is back in Tamil with `Thoondil'. The movie starring Shaam, Sandhya and Dhivya aka Ramya will hit the screens very soon.

It was shot completely in London. Interestingly Sandhya plays the mother role and Shaam plays her husband.

According to Adhiyaman, `The movie has a different storyline that would appease womenfolk. Amidst action-packed flicks in Kollywood, `Thoondil' would be a movie with a movie sans gory violence or bloodshed. All the characters have their best on the screen'.

Shaam is pinning all his hopes on Thoondil and is upbeat about the movie's fortunes at the box office.

Dhivya, who played glamorous roles in movies including `Kuthu' and `Giri', has been cast in a powerful role. "The character has been etched out in an excellent manner", she says.

Dhivya's role has a major say in the movie. She provides the right turn and twist in the story. Vivek plays the comical role in `Thoondil'.

`It is one of the best comedies by Vivek in the recent past. He will certainly tickle the funny bone in you, challenges the crew involved in the making of `Thoondil'. A refreshing Vivek with his utterances will bring the roof down with laughter', they say.

"Director Adhiyaman deserves a pat for bringing out the best from me. He manages to get the desired results from his artistes", adds Shaam.

"Shooting abroad for the movie was a great experience. I am eagerly awaiting `Thoondil's' release", says Shaam.

Buzz is that the director is planning for Diwali release.

"The whole film was shot in London as the story revolves around a family living there. Abhishek Ray, who scored the music for my soon-to-be released Hindi movie `Tumse Milkar', has composed tunes for this film as well", he says.

"All the songs have come out well and I am happy to introduce a fresh talent in Tamil cinema", adds the director.
