It's that day when two of the most watched movies in the history of TFI were released 3 and 15 years ago. Respectively, they are 'Attarintiki Daredi' and 'Student No. 1'. If the former is one of the biggest hits ever, the latter marked the debut of a director who has since become a national star filmmaker: SS Rajamouli.

As K Raghavendra Rao's protege, Rajamouli made a humble beginning with 'Student No. 1'. NTR was a small-time actor back then, with a flop behind him. This one promised to change the fortunes for him. And it did. A year later, 'Aadi' would catapult him to stardom. Overnight. But what is more interesting is that, 14 years later, Rajamouli's 'guru', who produced the disciple's first movie, would present 'Baahubali-The Beginning'. Rest, as they say, is history.

As for 'Attarintiki Daredi', it was released at a time when its producer was down in the dumps because most of the film had been leaked by mischievous elements. Thousands downloaded it and watched it. Lakhs knew what was in store. What was the producer, who had staked his all on the movie, to do in this situation? Repose faith in 'prekshaka devullu'. Rest, as they say, is history.
