“Prashanth is responsible for the break in his career. He made mistakes by committing wrong projects and by feeling pity for others. However, he is all set to make a comeback soon,” says Thyagarajan.

“As a father, it is my responsibility to ensure that my son is back on track. So I started two projects- ‘Malaiyur Mambattian’ and ‘Ponnar Sankar’. Both would make Prashanth to reinvent and reestablish himself,” the actor-filmmaker says.

Saying Prashanth is a very good actor, Thyagarajan adds, “All his talents would be brought on screen in both the films. ‘Malaiyur Mambattian’ is a yesteryear hit while ‘Ponnar Sankar’ has a strong backing in terms of script by Kalaignar.”

Expressing gratitude to Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, he says, “When I approached him with the idea of filming one of his works, he gave me two choices- ‘Ponnar Sankar’ and ‘Paayum Puli Pandara Vanniyan’. When I selected ‘Ponnar Sankar’, he said he was happy with my choice and immediately gave his consent.”
