Yesterday morning at PVR Mumbai, romance on screen got its new `avatar' from Jon Landau, James Cameron and Fox Star Studios.. the world's most beloved flick in the past two decades Titanic got up, close and personal for the viewers in its 3D avatar.. those present at the 45 minutes special preview where stunned by amazing combined magic of cinema, love and 3d technology.. making the viewer sail through the enchanting voyage after 15 years and still feeling the same.. Even better. Jon Landau and James Cameron who gave 3D a new lease of life with the magnificent Avatar are now set to change the experience of on screen romance with the 3D conversion of Titanic..

When asked whether the `Avatar' experience helped producer Jon said, "Avatar' helped us in a way when to reduce 3D, where to emphasise, where to focus...at which moment," The Leonardo DiCaprio-Kate Winslet starrer would release in 3D in India on April 5 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The producer also feels that filmmakers are shying away from making 3D movies.

"After 'Avatar' it went all into pitfall as studios were showing interest into making a 3D film rather than filmmakers. Filmmakers did not embrace it," he said.

Titanic 3D is was made at a budget of 18 million dollars in 60 weeks, it releases on April 5 - the 100th anniversary of Titanic's sinking, Jon said in a statement that the 3D version pays tribute to the tragedy that took place in 1912. Directed by James Cameron, 'Titanic', one of the greatest love stories of all times, was first released in 1997 and went on win 11 Oscars that year.

On asked which movie he would love to be done in 3D Jon named Lord of the Rings, Jurassic Park, even Lawrence of Arabia but emphasized on the involvement of the original director in the process the way James approved each and every 3D image of `Titanic' cause he was the creator and knew what will make the 3D impact on the audience..

Speaking on the growth of exhibition technology Jon said that sound has come and long way and the changing of movie watching experience from time to time on screen but underlined the fact that technology cannot beat the content. A 3D won,t make a bad film good.. but it can make a good film better.. He concluded..

Yes indeed.. Titanic 3D gives on screen love a new Avatar.
