TN MLAs to get 100% salary hike

At a time when the farmers of the state are protesting for loan waiver for months, the MLAs of Tamil Nadu have approved 100% hike in their salary which was announced by CM E Palanisamy in the State assembly today. Just a few minutes before the CM announced the hike, MPs of Rajya Sabha too requested to raise their salaries. The MLAs will now receive Rs. 1.5 Lakh as monthly salary compared to Rs. 55,000 before. This has come under severe criticism in social media as the state has not looked comprehensively to waive off the request of farmers which stands at a astonishing figure of Rs.40,000 crore.
