Tollywood proudly goes green

The Government of Telangana's Haritha Haram initiative has found many takers. Tollywood's who's who have been enthused by the practical solution that is in-built into the initiative. Right from Megastar Chiranjeevi to Burning Star Sampoornesh Babu, everyone is sending out this timeless Gandhian message: 'Be the change you want to see in the world'.

IndiaGlitz presents you a brief chronicle of our film celebs' participation.

Chiranjeevi

Setting up an example as an elder of the Telugu film industry and as a people's representative, this Rajya Sabha MP has taken time out of his busy shooting schedule to plant a sapling. Surely, he has made a statement to his fans and the people at large by doing it himself. The much-admired star posed with school girls with a sapling.

Nagarjuna

The glamorous star, who has in the past thrown his weight behind HIV awareness, has lost no time in responding to the government's call. He planted a sapling in the presence of his Annapurna Studios' staff. Currently shooting for Om Namo Venkatesaya at the same studios, he was seen wearing goggles. Responding to their star's call, the Akkineni fans made it a point to plant saplings at Kukatpally.

Allu Arjun

Unlike others, the Stylish Star participated in the event with his family. Flanked by dad Allu Aravind, wife Sneha and the cute little Stylish Star Ayaan, he proved to be a 'Sarrainodu' of the cause. After planting a sapling near his house, he said that there was felt a strong need to be environmentally conscious. He also emphasized on the need to make one's children too participate in such activities. "I am proud to be doing this along with my son," Bunny said.

Amala Akkineni

One of the most well-known Blue Cross faces, Amala is no stranger to noble causes. So, when she decided to set an example by participating, it was not surprising.

Akhil Akkineni

Like mother, like son. Saying that environmental and animal protection-related matters have always been dear to him since childhood, Akhil enthusiastically participated in Haritha Haram near Shamshabad Airport. He was one of the first Tollywood celebs to do this.

Rana Daggubati

Today morning, it was the turn of Daggubati Rana to extend his support to the 'go green' Haritha Haram project by planting two plant saplings. "Plant the trees and create an eco-friendly environment," Rana said.

Rakul & Raashi

Only yesterday, the much-happening glam divas Rakul Preet Singh and Raashi Khanna did their bit to generate awareness about the initiative by planting saplings at the famous Kasu Brahmananda Reddy National Park, Hyderabad.

Regina Cassandra

Another 'nakshatram' to take part in Haritha Haram was the affable Regina. The damsel was all smiles planting a sapling with all care and love. Saying that such initiatives are very important, she nominated Raj Tarun to plant next. Raj Tarun did his bit and nomianted Nikhil next.

Srikanth, Rajendra Prasad and Raj Tarun

Proudly wearing the green cloth, the budding star eagerly took part in Haritha Haram. "This is a great initiative by Telangana State Government and everyone plz take a part in it," he said. The young actor participated along with Rajendra Prasad, the MAA President, actor Srikanth and the veteran writer-actor-director Tanikella Bharani.

Lakshmi Manchu

The ever-so-active and sociable Lakshmi Manchu couldn't have been behind. Participating in Haritha Haram with her Lakshmi Bomb co-stars Kalakeya Prabhakar, Hema and others, she expressed happiness over planting a sapling. She was nominated on Twitter by Rakul Preet and she in turn nominated Regina. A good idea indeed.

Sampoornesh Babu

Sampoo did it without losing time. He was seen posing along with students who drew eco-conscious messages in figures. And yes, Sampoo rocked it when he did that.

The Government of Telangana's Haritha Haram initiative has found many takers. Tollywood's who's who have been enthused by the practical solution that is in-built into the initiative.
