Now Paramount Pictures have announced that the sequel 'Top Gun : Maverick' will release on the 19th of July 2019. Director Tony Scott passed away in 2012 and the new movie is going to be directed by Joseph Kosinski and will be a modern take with drones and fifth generation fighters galore. It is still unknown whether the entire original cast will return or new stars will board.
