With the onset of the vacations, the movie theaters are once again witnessing good crowd pull with the return back of youth viewers.

The top five Malayalam films are:

1. ‘Mulla’ - Lal Jose's new film, which was much, looked upon by fans of Dileep expecting a big hit, failed to keep up to the hype. But it is also not a big downer primarily because of its earlier release than other Vishu films. The movie made an interesting opening and sustained its good collections all along the first week. The movie seems to bring in better returns than Dileep's recent movies

2. ‘Cycle’ - The very different film by Johny Antony starring Vineeth Srinivasan and Vinu Mohan, is still going steady even after fifty days. The movie is the first genuine hit of the New Year.

3. ‘Katha Parayumbol’ - Debutant director M. Mohanan and his movie about lost friendship is making headlines and is being remade in all important languages. The movie is going strong even after 105 days.

4. ‘Malabar Wedding’ - This small but refreshing movie about playing pranks associated with marriages is a better earner than expected. Starring Indrajith and Gopika, the movie is on to its third week in select centers. The next week is crucial for this movie as it may get eliminated from the list due to arrival of other big films.

5. ‘Roudram’ - Mammootty's police saga manages to enter the list, now by default. The film in its 65 days has shifted to B centers, but with good collections. The film is keeping up the traditions of Mammootty's cop movies, becoming an above average hit.
