Actor Suriya`s mega-budgeted sci-fi flick 24` is all set to hit the screens tomorrow (May 6) in more than 2000 screens across the globe. The film has garnered a huge deal of pre-release hype, thanks to the big names in the cast and crew as well as the positive feel created by the teaser, trailer and audio tracks of Oscar Nayagan AR Rahman.

Indiaglitz lists out the top Five Reasons why you should not miss watching this Vikram Kumar directorial in theaters.

Suriya as the dreadful Athreya

Ever since Gajini, Suriya has enjoyed immense popularity in the Telugu States. Whether it's hit or flop, he is a beloved one here. Now that he is returning like a mini-Kamal Haasan, there are many who are saying, "Power to you, Suriya!"

This is Suriya`s first triple role flick and the three roles include the dreadful villain Athreya. Suriya, known for his perfectionist streak, comes in a menacing get-up, gestures and voice for the character. He also sports five get-ups, including that of a wheel-chair bound old man.

AR Rahman`s Music

AR Rahman, who is a busy music director internationally, gets time to do only one or two Tamil films a year. When this script was narrated to Rahman, he immediately accepted as he was convinced that it will be an ambitious effect.

Rahman has given super hit songs belonging to various genres and his music is as fresh as ever. From the trailers we could assess that the musical genius must have lifted the film to a higher level with his re-recording.

Visual Extravaganza

A good script is necessary, but not sufficient. A good conception will go down the drain if you fail to present it in a visually-appealing manner. Not all films get this at the right place. Most of the films pass muster in this regard, while a select few films come up as Visual extravaganza. Looks like 24 belongs to the rarer category.

Cinematographer Tirru aka Tirunavukkarasu has returned to Kollywood after six years with this film and the visuals of the film is a striking aspect that simply wows the viewer in the teaser and the trailer. The selection of locations is going to be another big treat as the film has been shot in some unseen locations such as Poland. The way the songs have been shot is also going to be a huge treat to fans.

Art Direction

Art directors Amit and Subrata Chakraborthy, who have worked for Bollywood films, make their Kollywood debut with this film.

24 as a film has tremendous scope for art directors as the script is such. The sets for time machine and research lab excite us while watching the trailer and the experience of watching them with more details in the film is definitely going to be a never before experience.

Maverick Vikram Kumar

After the super hit horror flick Yaavarum Nalam (13B), director Vikram Kumar has direct a Tamil film after a gap of 6-7 years. In the meantime he has directed two super hit Telugu films, Ishq and Manam, that fall in different genres.

The visionary he is, Vikram Kumar has now come up with a genuine product falling under science fiction- a rarely explored genre in Tamil cinema. The combination of this genre, the unusual time travel concept added in the script and the proven adeptness of Vikram Kumar in handling different genres of films efficiently has created the huge expectations for the film right from the word go.
