The trailer of Oka Manasu has a strong Rama Raju stamp on it. Like Mallela Theeram, this one is high on saccharine. Produced by Madhura Sridhar and TV9, the film boasts of decent production values, if the trailer is anything to go by. The lead pair are seen everywhere, while Rao Ramesh plays a very important character.

Debutante Niharika gets to say substantial lines. Lines like 'Nee meedha prema chavadhu.. Inkokari meedha prema puttadu, Surya' (My love for you won't die, it won't be there for anyone else) make it clear that the film tells a pure love story. 'Ishtam gattiga untundemo kada, Surya' (Looks like affection is quite a strong thing, Surya) means that Rama Raju has added enough of zing to spice up the proceedings.

A question from the girl to her boy mirrors the thinking of many a girl: 'Nenishtama, mee nanna ishtama?' takes the cake. Naga Shourya's character gets to answer twice: It's father in initial days, but it's both are equal later.

The conflict point seems to centre around the guy choosing politics. Shourya's 'Politicians are there in every home; there is a politician in everyone' says it all.

Niharika's 'Premaku chavu ledantaru kada, Surya. Alantappudu chacchentha prema ela pudutundi?' (They say love is eternal. Then how come love that can kill self take birth?) makes a profound sense. Rama Raju's characters are in wonderment, once again. One wonders why Shourya has to tell his girl that she has a life beyond him. And yes, don't miss Ramana Maharshi's portrait.
