What is it all about?

Delivering to the hilt what the ladies with their kids and their daddy's waiting at the box office ordered, The fourth installment of the iconic Transformers series and a sequel to Transformers: Dark of the Moon is a bigger, better and this time soulful sci- fi orchestra that accelerates on exhilarating action and spectacle to overcome its somewhat haphazard plot to rightfully eye `prime' returns.

This Paramount major sci -fi adventure this times focuses on its Asian following by shooting the climax portions in Hong Kong and China making it ripe for Viacom 18 Motion Pictures to sell (read distribute) this metallic superheroes amongst its eager English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu territories in India for prosperous returns.

The Story

Taking a leaf from "X-Men: Days of Future Past." Ehren Kruger writes the fourth installment also after writing the last two `Transformers' series.

Ehren Kruger in Age of Extinction as a writer supports the familiar elements like a paranoid US government using mutant DNA to create a bigger and better metallic giants designed to fight for them, a family searching for identity, playing well with the audience favorite `underdog' thingy making them root for the lead and the lovable metallic monsters.

`Transformers: Age Of Extinction' begins after an epic battle left a great city torn, but with the world saved. As humanity picks up the pieces, a shadowy group reveals itself in an attempt to control the direction of history...while an ancient, powerful new menace sets Earth in its crosshairs. With help from a new cast of humans (led by Mark Wahlberg), Optimus Prime and the Autobots rise to meet their most fearsome challenge yet. In an incredible adventure, they are swept up in a war of good and evil, ultimately leading to a climactic battle across the world.

What to look out for

Michael Bay designs it to please its fans and sci fi adorable worldwide. Lovers of explosion, high adrenaline sci -fi action are in for a treat. The metallic robots taking different shapes like a chameleon look terrific and pragmatic in 3D.

The movie is a technical marvel Industrial Light & Magic visual effects and animation is fit in delivering an orgasm for its lovers.

Amir Mokri's lense work is just terrific. Dolby Atmos sound mix adds extra zeal. Editing by Roger Barton, William Goldenberg and Paul Rubell is sharp and crisp. Steve Jablonsky music score adds fun to the proceedings.

The most significant aspect of the Transformers fourth installment under Bay's direction is the character driven emotionally connecting Robots lead by Optimus Prime. Drift, Watanabe's and the Cigar loving Goodman are delight. Bumblebee brings smiles to the audience.

Among the humans Mark Wahlberg the teen pop idol turned serious actor is perfect in the lead. Stanley Tucci as the scientist is quite good. Kelsey Grammer as the US defense personnel is adequate. Nicola Peltz is cute.

What not

The common and repeated elements in the plot might be off putting for cynics. The length is a concern. It is not a smart move to waste a known Asian talent like Bingbing Li considering the fact that the makers are eyeing big shares from Asian market. Non sci -fi and action enthusiast may find it hard to digest.

Conclusion: Designed to please its followers and sci -fi action buffs in general. Michael Bay's `soul'ful twist to Transformers latest tryst, Age Of Extinction is a promise delivered to the hilt where `Prime' gives the franchise the `optimum' reason of joy for its audience in 2D, 3D and Imax 3D with Dolby Atmos. Go For it.
