Actress Trisha Krishnan is not someone who deifies fellow humans as "gods." Speaking at a press meet held recently, she said that she doesn't have faith in the gurus and swamijis of the 'spiritual' world.

She also said that media was becoming so powerful a force in the society that everyone needed to be afraid of it. She responded with the answer, when a media personnel asked her (probably in the context of the Ranjitha-Swami Nithyananda video footage) if details of the private life of actresses was increasingly poking out.

At a time when celebrities patronise some fake godmen, by giving away their fortunes, Trisha's rare stance has caught everyone's attention. The actress, who spoke with conviction, indicated that there was no need to prostrate before ordinary humans.

She also subtly insinuated that the media was becoming a menace in the case of celebrities. If, most of the times, it is behind their popularity, instrumental in making them icons overnight, it could be a nightmare when it spreads false rumours and chases their private lives, day in and day out.

Is the celebrity-crazed media listening?
