Expectations

Actor - choreographer - director Prabhudeva made in sensational mark in the 90's era with some fantastic dances and few hit movies. Later he focused on his chorographical skills and returned back with some super hit films as a director.

This new found success also re-launched him as an actor in the super hit franchise of 'ABCD' series. His latest acting venture is 'Tutak Tutak Tutiya', which has a decent amount of expectations due to the presence of Prabhudeva and Tamannaah Bhatia, who is riding high after the massive popularity of 'Baahubali'.

Story

'Tutak Tutak Tutiya' is a story of Krishna (Prabhudeva) who wishes to get married to a modern city girl. Sadly, due to some uncertain circumstances Krishna has to marry a simple village girl, Devi (Tamannaah Bhatia). Krishna returns back to Mumbai with his newly married wife Devi and shifts into a new apartment. One day Krishna takes Devi along with him for an award show. He gets the shock of his life when he sees Devi in totally modern avatar dancing brilliantly on the dance floor.

Next day superstar Raj Khanna (Sonu Sood) offers Devi to work as a heroine in his next film. Krishna instantly rejects this offer, but Devi accepts it. After this incident Krishna comes to know the supernatural reasons for Devi's behavior as she is possessed by a ghost of a struggling actress.

The 'Glitz' Factor

The story is different and adds freshness to the genre of horror-comedy. The one line plot idea is fantastic, but has been stretched to its fullest. The movie is hilariously funny in some parts featuring Prabhudeva and Tamannaah. These scenes manage to leave a smile on your face in comparison to all others where everything else is either too loud or completely bland.

You will love Prabhudeva's dance in 'Chal Maar' followed by a surprisingly great dance by Tamannnaah in 'Suku Suku'. The title track and 'Rail Gaddi' are enjoyable.

Prabhudeva is enjoyable and has much more than mere dancing to do in this movie. His comical expressions work in the favour of the film. Tamannaah Bhatia is fantastic in her roles of a simple girl and a glamorous heroine. She surprises everyone by her dancing and acting skills. Murli Sharma and Rajiv Thakur lend good support. Amy Jackson, Esha Gupta and Farah Khan's cameos were welcomed.

The 'Non-Glitz' Factor

The one line plot idea is fantastic, but has been stretched to its fullest. Once the basic premise is established the movie goes on a dragging mode due to minimal happenings in the screenplay. The entire track of Sonu Sood is over the top, where he is seen aping the superstar Shahrukh Khan in almost every scene. There is no connect nor substance in his melodramatic track.

The special effects are unintentionally funny. The camera work is strictly average. There are many peppy songs in the film, but none of them manage to get registered.

Director A.L. Vijay marks his debut in Hindi films with his multilingual film 'Tutak Tutak Tutiya'. He comes up with an interesting tale which gets diluted due to additional glamorous track of Sonu Sood.

Also, the movie has been treated like a South Indian film due to which it looks more like a dubbed film. It's a good opportunity loss for this director. Sonu Sood looks great but ends up being a victim of half backed character. There is nothing new nor concrete to offer in his stale and boring track. Nassar's cameo was wasted.

Final 'Glitz'

'Tutak Tutak Tutiya' has mild fun only due to presence of Prabhudeva and Tamannaah, which gets highly diluted due to dragging screenplay and weak track of Sonu Sood.
