Actor-producer Udhayanidhi Stalin has expressed unhappiness over the denial of tax exemption to his maiden heroic venture 'Oru Kal Oru Kannadi'. "Distributors and theatre owners have been suffering a lot due to this," he said.

In a statement on Tuesday, Udhayanidhi said, "While tax exemption was given to a film which had lyrics in English and Tamil in one of its songs and which had a scene of a marriage being conducted in a pub, why not tax exemption be given to OKOK?"

He added: "People cutting across age groups and other barriers have been coming to cinema halls in large numbers and thoroughly enjoying OKOK. With such being the case, it is unfair that tax exemption was denied to the film."

Directed by Rajesh M and produced by Udhayanidhi himself, 'OKOK' hit the screens Friday last.
