Young actress Varalakshmi Sarathkumar has been involved in activism for the safety of women in Tamil Nadu including those within the film industry as well as outside. A few months back she launched a campaign named 'Save Sakthi'.

While launching her campaign, Varu had put forth two important requests to the Tamil Nadu Government. She had demanded that crimes against women should be investigated within a limited time frame and also special Mahila Courts should be started to try the cases against women.

Today taking her campaign further, Varu has met the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K.Palaniswamy and personally submitted her requests to to the top minister of the state.
