Director Bala's 'Tharai Thapapttai' may have been a commercial and critical failure but its lead lady Varalaxmi Sarathkumar is reaping the benefits for giving such a stunning performance in that film.

Varu the elder daughter of Sarathkumar made her debut with Silambarasan's 'Poda Podi'. Since then she acted in a few other films including director Sundar.C's 'Mada Gaja Raja' which has not seen the light of day till now.

Hence 'Tharai Thappattai' happened to be only the second Tamil release of Varu in six four years.

But the years ahead look exciting for her career graph as she is part of some exciting projects. She is acting in an important role in action thriller 'Nibunan' with Arjun and Prasanna. This film has been directed by Arun Vaidyanathan. She is also part of 'Vikram Vedha' directed by Pushkar-Gayathri and this film will have Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi as male leads.

Now the latest we learn that Varalaxmi has signed to play an important role in the second film of director Pradeep Krishnamoorthy whose 'Saithan' will be hitting the screens next week.

The yet to be titled film's shooting has commenced already. The film stars Sibiraj and Remya Nambeesan in lead roles. Varu will be playing an pivotal character in this yet to be tilted film.
