The eminent director Yogaraj Bhat captured on the human tendency related to social topic of ‘Vaasthu Shastra’. The significance of Vaasthu Shastra today is very wide and vast. Yogaraj Bhat in his humor mixed venture observes that ‘Vaasthu’ is not in buildings but in minds. With half dozen characters ‘Vaasthu Prakara’ shot mainly in Switzerland is also on divided minds. The Vasthu Shastra is shown as another money making machine and it is long drawn out narration. At places the film is hilarious and presence of Navarasanayaka Jaggesh brings some difference. Vasthu expert Krishna Shastry (TN Seetharam) son Kubera (Rakshit Shetty) change the direction of Lord Anjaneya in his village that results in lot of brickbats.
Father is a great believer in Vasthu and son considers Vaasthu Shaastra is bogus. Kubera not allowed to stay in village and immensely hated by his father joins his uncle Jagadish (Jaggesh) in USA. There is a tale of sorrow in Jagadish but eking out a living and maintaining prestige Kubera takes up the job of Vaasthu that he did not believe in with Jagadish. The first target of this duo is a palace looking house in Switzerland. There is an estranged couple in the aristocratic family and a daughter of the two. For the duo the main hardship is criminal lawyer (played by Parul Yadav). The first job is given to the duo on the sentiment grounds.
The daughter of the aristocratic family wants her parents to cancel divorce. That is possible only Vasthu is applied to the house says the duo. The task of changing the Vaasthu of the house is entrusted to Jagadish and Kubera. In the process the rich daughter falls in love with Kubera. What is the end result? Vaasthu is given its due share? The divorce is cancelled? A few more questions are answered in the narration. Jaggesh as senior actor has done his best. Dialogue delivery his trump card should have been further strong. Rakshit Shetty effort is wasted and his casual performance looks very weak. Depressed daughter Aishani Shetty is liked for her innocence. Sudharani and Ananthnag steal the show. TN Seetharam and Sudha Belawadi are apt. V Harikrishna three tunes are on top gear. Melody is not missing from V Harikrishna. Santosh Rai Pathaje gives a good view of Switzerland to the eyes. This is not Bhat’s Best!
